KATHMANDU, September 9: The government has decided to conduct the national census from September 15 including Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura of Darchula district.

After the issuance of a new political map of Nepal including Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura of Darchula district last year, the government has decided to include these regions in the national census as well.

According to the Director General of the Central Department of Statistics, Nebalal Shrestha, the census will be conducted physically if the government can arrange it accordingly or will be conducted through satellite technology.

Earlier, the national census scheduled for June 8 to 22 was postponed on May 2 by the government citing the high risk of COVID-19.
