Impressive victory of the Netherlands in the World Cup selection

KATHMANDU: SEPT. 5 –  The Netherlands beat Montenegro 4-0 in the European qualifiers for the World Cup qualifiers. Barcelona forward Memphis Depay scored two goals for the Netherlands in the home game of the Qatar World Cup qualifiers.

Georginio Wijnaldum and Cody Gakpo equalized the Dutch team.

Memphis gave the Netherlands the lead through a penalty in the 38th minute of Saturday night’s game at the Philips Stadion Eindhoven. They took a 1-0 lead in the first half and became more aggressive in the second half.

In the 62nd minute, Cody Gakpo’s pass gave Depay his second individual goal to double the lead. In the 70th minute, Georginio Wijnaldum scored on a Steven Berghuis pass to give the Netherlands a 3-0 lead, while Cody Gakpo scored on a Tyrell Malacia pass in the 76th minute to give the Netherlands a 4-0 victory.

After the victory, the Netherlands is in second place in Group G with 10 points from 5 games. Turkey is at the top with 11 points. Defeated Montenegro is in fourth place with 7 points.
