Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku has returned to English club Chelsea after seven years. London club Chelsea have signed forward Lukaku on Thursday.
Chelsea has signed Lukaku from the Italian club Inter Milan for 97.5 million. Lukaku, 28, has signed a five-year deal with Chelsea.
Lukaku has expressed happiness after returning to the old club. “I am very happy and blessed to be back at this great club,” Lukaku told Chelsea’s website. “It’s been a long journey. I came here as a child who had a lot to learn. Now I have returned with a lot of experience and maturity. ‘
Lukaku joined Chelsea in 2011 from Belgian club Anderlecht. But he left Chelsea in 2014. He didn’t get many opportunities while at Chelsea and even played on loan from West Brom and Everton.
Lukaku played for Chelsea from 2011 to 2014. He then played for Everton.
From 2014 to 2017, he scored 87 goals in 166 games for Everton. Lukaku, who then signed for Manchester United, played 96 games and scored 42 goals.
Lukaku arrived at Inter Milan from United in 2019. Lukaku, who played a key role in helping Inter win the Serie A league for the first time in a decade, scored 24 goals in 36 games last season.
Lukaku has scored 64 goals in 98 games for the Belgian national team.
