Rupandehi, Lumbini Chief Amik Sherchan has urged the state government to give first priority to raising the living standards of the people living in villages and remote settlements. While taking charge of responsibility in the office of the state chief today, he said that economic prosperity could be achieved only if the living standards of the poor people are raised.
Stating that the existing federal system including an inclusive and proportional system is exemplary for the international community, Chief Sherchan said that this system should be properly implemented as per the constitution. “We should not create a situation where the constitution is interpreted in a way that suits us and goes against the spirit and letter of the constitution. We are not allowed to go beyond the rights specified in the constitution” Serchan said.
