Gaurika’s journey to the Olympics ended with a National Record

Nepali women’s swimmer Gauri Singh’s Olympic journey has ended in a hit phase.

Gauri, who competed in the women’s 100-meter freestyle, finished third in the hit stage.

Competing in the first hit, Gaurika completed the distance in one minute zero point 11 seconds. She lags behind players from Nigeria and Myanmar. Abiola of Nigeria completed the distance in 59.74 seconds while Andela of Myanmar completed the distance in one minute and one point one second.

Gaurika has set a national record in the 100-meter freestyle long-distance. She has improved her own record set in 2019.

Gaurika set a national record in the 18th FINA World Championships in South Korea in 2019 with a time of 1: 00.62.

Alex Shah set a national record in swimming at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics. Although he was first in his hit stage, he could not reach the next stage.

Meanwhile, shooting player Kalpana Pariyar had improved her personal performance.

Now the only competition left in Tokyo is athletics from Nepal. Saraswati Chaudhary from Nepal will compete in 100 meters. His competition is on July 30.
