Prohibitory order, transport suspension in Kathmandu from Thursday

Chief district officers of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur districts in the Kathmandu valley have decided to impose a prohibitory order in the districts from Thursday (April 29) midnight.

A meeting of the CDOs held on Monday afternoon made the decision. It is not immediately clear if the order is indefinite (up to the next notice) or a period has been specified.

Nonetheless, a decision has been made to close all shops except those selling grocery and medicines and suspend the movement of private and public vehicles also, according to a source.

Hotels and restaurants can provide takeaway services during this period, it has been learned.
