India’s COVID-19 tally surpasses 42 million, deaths over 500,000


NEW DELHI: FEB. 5 – India’s COVID-19 tally rose to 42,080,664 on Saturday as 127,952 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours across the country, showed the federal health ministry’s latest data.

Besides, 1,059 deaths due to the pandemic since Friday morning took the total death toll to 501,114.

There are still 1,331,648 active COVID-19 cases in the country with a fall of 103,921 active cases during the past 24 hours. This was the 12th consecutive day when the number of active cases declined in the country.

A total of 40,247,902 people have been successfully cured and discharged from hospitals so far, out of which 230,814 were discharged during the past 24 hours.
